The cool conditions of the Clare Valley in vintage 2022 gave exceptional Sangiovese. The gently sloping alluvial soils in our vineyard provided the perfect environment to produce muscular and fleshy Sangiovese, creating varietal characters. This is small batch production at its best.
The Sangiovese grapes were crushed into a small open fermenter and hand plunged to gently extract the flavour from the skins. With twelve months maturation in American oak barrels, this allowed the wine to mature and soften.
Vibrant deep purple colour. Black and red cherry with medium fine tannins, providing presence and power to the pallet. The medium acid is soft and adds length to the fleshy fruit. A youthfyl, vibrant wine with years of aging potential.

Richly fruited and perfumed, the wine shows dark cherry, sweet plum, dried herb and roasted nut aromas, followed by a succulent palate delivering plump mouthfeel and silky texture. A light, fresh, red-fruited, spicy kinda vibe going on, and delightful in all that. Crisp edges to red cherry and cranberry with woody spices, white pepper, clove and cola. Fun! It drinks light and crunchy, super vibrant with a gentle cinching of sandy tannins a pleasing
addition. It feels nouveau in its way, and the alcohol neatly reflects that. A chill in its future? Sure. Go for it. This is a real delight, and really well done. – Mike Bennie, 22 March 2024
