In 1838 Walter Thomson, with wife Jane, arrived in Australia and established a winemaking tradition. Faithful to his approach, our estate grown parcels are carefully tended by our vignerons to create wines of great intensity. Set in the northern range of the cool and picturesque Clare Valley, the high altitude provides finesse and delicate power to our mature vines. 

Tasting Notes

Elegant and poised, opening with rose petal and fresh florals that give way to dark fruits, ripe mulberry, and rich chocolate. A lingering thread of aniseed and liquorice carries through to the palate, where succulent dark cherry and seasoned French oak take centre stage, beautifully supported by smooth, spicy tannins and a fresh crack of black pepper. Silky in texture, the wine rounds out to a lush, mouth-watering and enduring finish.
