In 1838 Walter Thomson, with Wife Jane, arrived in Australia and established a winemaking tradition. Faithful to his approach, our estate grown parcels are carefully tended by our vignerons to create wines of great intensity. The 2021 vintage in Clare Valley witnessed cooler, favourable conditions, which fostered gradual ripening, allowing the fruit to express its full character with grace and purity.

Tasting Notes

Vibrant red and black fruit flavors, accompanied by spicy notes of pepper, licorice and herbs, precede a medium-ripe tannic structure and gentle acidity. The wine's enduring fruit presence on the palate is a testament to the exceptional quality grapes harvested from the northern reaches of the Clare Valley.
